A NHS mental health trust, providing a full range of mental health services to the population of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough in the East of England (about 800,000 people). We are a designated Cambridge University Teaching Trust. We have about 2,500 staff working across 75 sites We provide services for older people, children and adolescents, adults, primary care, learning disabilities, substance misuse and forensics. We have an annual income of more than £100 million and our services cover an area of 1400 square miles.  Services are provided both as inpatients, and mostly in the community.

Care Servces

We provide a full range of care services to those with mental health needs across the age spectrum.  We have configured our care services into five clinical academic divisions, each with a director and research director.  These are adult services, child and adolescent mental health, primary care mental health, older peoples mental health and specialist services (learning disability and forensic).

Training Resources

We are a training centre for psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses and allied health professionals.

We are partners in a recently appointed health innovation and education cluster (HIEC) which is looking to disseminate best practice training tools across the region.

Particular mental health training tools being developed in CPFT include treatment of medically unexplained physical symptoms, detection and treatment of borderline personality disorder
