The IRSSV provides information support at a national level, including specialst guidance in the fields of disability protection, long-term care, and deinstitutionalization.
Content information
The ENTER x IRSSV 2026 webinar, titled Connecting People with Disabilities through Technology – Opportunities and Pitfalls, will take place on 21 May 2026. The webinar will last approximately two hours and will bring together people with disabilities and professionals across the ENTER Mental Health network and beyond.
We will create a space for exchanging practical experiences and strengthening international connections among people with disabilities, particularly in relation to the use of digital tools such as Zoom meetings, online forums, and other forms of online participation and researchers with knowledge on online communication. Speakers from different countries will present their experiences, reflecting on the different ways in which they establish and maintain connections online, why this kind of connection is important, what benefits it brings, as well as the challenges, concerns, and limitations of this way of connecting and communicating.
Each presentation will last approximately 10–15 minutes and will be followed by half an hour dedicated to general discussion, during which the speakers will be invited to reflect on what opportunities and pitfalls online communication brings.
Technical information
The webinar will take place online via Zoom and will be moderated by Mateja and Sara from the Social Protection Institute of the Republic of Slovenia (IRSSV). The webinar will be held in English, but there will be a technical possibility for multilingual participation. Translation to and from English must be provided by the speakers.
The webinar will be recorded, and the recording will be uploaded to the YouTube channel of the Centre for Deinstitutionalisation (available here).
