The Mental Health Department of the Local Health Care Authority no.18 Rovigo operates within an area of 41 Municipalities between the River Adige and the River Po, with a total population of 172.000 inhabitants. The area of intervention of the Department is divided into two districts: District 1 Medio Polesine and District 2 Alto Polesine. There are two different articulations of the Mental Health Dept. for providing assistance in the two districts. In each of them there is the Mental Health Centre with de-centred outpatient clinics, a Daily Centre, In the territory of the local health care authority there are seven residential homes which differ in the dimensions, patients’ typology, and degree of protection, in a range going from the non-protected apartment, to the CTRP with 24 hours protection. The Mental Health Department has also a Psychiatric ward (SPDC) with fifteen beds where patients suffering from severe psychic crisis can be admitted – voluntarily or mandatorily.
