Middlesex University, London, UK Main Roles in the EMILIA Project Middlesex is the main contractor of the project and coordinator. It is responsible for management. In addition to this Middlesex has developed several of the training programs and is also a domonstration site. Current Status as a demonstration site. Mu has also developed the Strengths Approach and Research Skills training programmes. Short description of MU Middlesex University is a large, culturally diverse university, operating on a number of campuses and hospital sites in North London. The School of Health and Social Sciences (HSSc) has established strong links with National Health Service (NHS) Trusts and government organisations as well as within local communities, in addition to a number of UK, EU and international collaborative partners. In 2005 Middlesex University was given special funding to invest in a Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) in Mental Health and Social Work. The School has extensive experience of co-ordinating and participating in European collaborative research projects, for example: Occupational Stress with Mental Health Clients in Acute Response (OSCAR); Integrated Services Aimed at Dual Diagnosis and Optional Recovery from Addiction (ISADORA) and EMILIA. Within the Centre for Transcultural and Mental Health Research, a range of projects are being conducted, including in the areas of substance misuse, assertive outreach, dual diagnosis, and risk management.
