Main roles in the EMILIA Project

Fundació IMIM is one of the 8 demonstration sites involved in the implementation activities undertaken in the workpakages As Emilia goals define, ours task is  involve patients, families and local organizations in LLL with the objective of social inclusion and improve the level of employment. We are working in an outpatients centre and a day hospital that belong to Instituto  Asistencia Psiquiatrica i Salut Mental (IAPS) and to Instituto Municipal de Asistencia sanitaria (IMAS). We are in connection with University Autonoma Barcelona (UAB), Pompeo Fabra University (PF), and School of Nursing, (EUI)  We will work involving patients and families in this teaching organitations.

Current Status as a demonstration site.

FIMIM has also developed the Social Netwrok Support training programme.

Short description

The Fundació IMIM (FIMIM)is a private non-profit entity  which objectives focus on post-doctoral research and teaching activities in the field of Biomedicine and Health and Life Sciences and the promotion of such activities within the Institut Municipal d’Assistència Sanitària” (IMAS), mainly in its research centre the “Institut Municipal d’Investigació Mèdica” (IMIM) and the “Hospital del Mar”.

At present, the IMIM’s Research Groups and Units activity is concentrated on the fields of basic, clinical, and epidemiological cancer research; clinical and epidemiological research on drugs and abuse substances; research on the effectiveness of health care services; research on cardiovascular diseases; research on respiratory medicine and environmental health; and research on biomedical informatics.

The Fundació IMIM is one of the main promoters of the and in conjunction with the Foundation for Research of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and the Center for Genomic Regulation, actually constitutes the PRBB.
